Take Me Out to the Ballgame

On such a beautiful Sunday afternoon, Andrew had a wonderful idea for us to take in a RoughRiders game!
Crazy Carl was in attendance...
with his questionable choice of eyewear. (Pretty sure those glasses said "princess" on the side!)
Of course a plastic ballcap completed the outfit grandly.

Jonathan and Andrew had to sit together away from all the girl-talk because apparently some people actually go to the ballfield to watch a game???
We were good fans who sang every song they played on the loud speaker, did the wave, and even the YMCA.
Deuce performed a rendition of Wipeout...on Andrew's head!

It all added up to a pretty great afternoon, oh and the RoughRiders won!! Maybe we're good luck! ;)

Jacquelyn and Andrew
Jordan and Jim
Jennifer and Jonathan
The whole Crazy Cuff crew...

Who'll probably never go anywhere in public with the young marrieds again!

Next time we'll try to plan ahead a little better so that everyone can go!!

Oh, and here's the blog link for our friend's that have the very preemie baby that we've added to the prayer request list. They try to update every week on Ele's condition and what their friends and family can specifically pray about. I'm sure if you'll check it out you'll see what an unbelievably amazing family they are!

that just happened

and then notice Jim (he's dancing, not pretending to be Mrs. Bates off Psycho-- anyone else hearing the horror movie music??? haha)

jennifer and jordan made some extraordinary domino art
and then,
no, Jim did not do that.
I am sure thats what you were all thinking, but no. J & J celebrated the glorious destruction of their creation. then we played mexican train...

what was the score again??? LOL.

J & J's Books & Movies

Books & Movies...2 things I LOOOVE!! I'm slightly obsessed with both. Our computer room is soley dedicated to my book shelves and our hundreds of movies collection. For the record, Jim is not a big reader. I've gone so far as to get him books about hunting or how to process your own deer meet in hopes that he would read them....no go! Oh well...love him anyway.

At the moment I pretty much read teen or young adult books, because my kids will tell me ones they like. I'm in that phase right now. I like the cheesy teen love stories. Lol! I of course love the Twilight series...yes I am one of the obsessed ones (and I'm not ashamed)!! I love the City of Bones series (Mortal Instruments series) and Kristin Cashore's books. I also love classics such as Wuthering Heights, Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen books, the Bronte sisters books, Chaucer, The Count of Monte Cristo (the movie is good but the book is better!), etc. I have this problem where when I start a book I have to finish it. So I will often stay up all night sometimes because I picked up a book in the afternoon and can't put it down.

Now for movies...I have too many to choose favorites. Jim's favs are the Harry Potter series. We fall to sleep every night with a Harry on!! We like all types of movies really: action, comedy, drama, etc. I like romantic comedies, but it depends on the movie for Jim.

My favorite movie since I was like 5 has and always will be The Little Mermaid. I know every word to those songs. I'll serenade you some time if you would like! :-) Jacquelyn...I saw your Hangover picture. We love that movie...I laugh so hard I cry every time I watch it. Let me think of some other movies I love...ummm...Pride & Prejudice, The Gladiator, The Patriot, The Holiday, Twilight/New Moon, Pirates of the Caribbean I,II,III (love that wierd Johnny Depp!), Wedding Crashers, Love Comes Softly series (sweet movies!), TROY, 300, Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (Kevin Costner one), The Parent Trap (original and lohan one), Star Wars (all 6 of them! the original 3 are the best though), Ever After, Disney movies....I could go on forever!

Ok I think you get the picture. I love to read and watch. I go to movies all the time. If anyone would like to go with me, just let me know what you want to see and we'll make a date!

andrew + jacquelyn -- favorite movies

luckily, we generally agree on movies. although, i have to admit... i've never been much of a chick flick kind of girl, but since being married ... i've been more into girlie movies. weird? i really like more action/suspense/comedy/natural disaster type of movies. my all time favorites are (in random order, depending on my mood) 1) the thomas crown affair 2) the italian job  3) the hangover -- okay, it kinda looks like i just like movies with "the" in the title, but i promise thats not why i picked them. other movies i always love to watch: simon birch, stomp the yard, wedding crashers, twister, blades of glory, the wedding date, sex and the city (love love it) and last but never least the godfather (1-3, but 2 is my fav) i dont do scary movies.... ever.

andrew again, is really more into war movies than anything else... which works, because i am so okay with watching the patriot, braveheart, and other historicalish movies (i love the costumes) -- he dabbles with sci-fy/intelligence movies... which i dont get and ask too many questions, so usually we dont watch those together (movies like i-robot and jumper)  Andrew also likes sports movies (does that shock anyone??) usually football, but of course, he's a fan of lots of sports. he(we) likes -remember the titans, the blind side, we are marshall, and rudy, but some of his all-time favorites are (again, random order) 1) gods and generals  2) a river runs through it  3) master and commander 4) we were soldiers

we are currently watching the HBO series "The Pacific" -- so far, its wonderful.

the first movie we saw together on a date was : The Pursuit of Happiness

andrew + jacquelyn -- favorite books

hello friends!
andrew and i both really love to read, andrew moreso than me... but i'm coming around! his favorites are mostly in the historical-fiction genre, he loves Vince Flynn, John Grisham, Michael Shaara, and Jeff Shaara. some of his favs are: the steel wave & killer angels. he has read every single john grisham book that has been released. he's full of information. everyone in his family reads, and then they all trade books. he knows all kinds of random war/battle facts.... he was a history major, english minor!!! there is your random andrew fact for the day!

i like a really random assortment of books, i generally pick cute ones, which doesnt always end up so well for me. once at barnes and noble, i bought 4 books because they were so pretty with pink covers, and they were all about princesses, i thought they'd be good for a laugh but as it turns out they are just continuing versions of "the princess diaries" like... the anne hathaway movies. i was not so much into them, even though they're pretty! i like twilight, the books were a good read, movies a bit disappointing. i've read another series of "vampire books" that are just the same, nothing more than a good read! i also just recently read "beyond the blonde" which is a semi-fictional or rather embellished auto-biography about a (hair)colorist in nyc. and i like "bless your heart tramp" -- its completely pointless, but witty humor. i like all kinds of books, they're like shoes, the more variety, the better!

Team Stewart- Books and Movies

Rustin and I both love love love movies! We are big time fans of anything Disney especially! Yes I know we are adults and that sounds lame but we love Disney! Up is our favorite movie together. I cry every time we watch it and it is such a great movie. Rustin likes anything action, comedy, or even a good drama and I like all of those with the fun romantic comedies too! We both try to see movies the other might enjoy and have turned out liking some we really thought would be boring/stupid.

Rustin love to read also... me not so much and yes I know as a teacher I should read, but hey gossip magazines count don't they? Rustin likes to read books about sports his favorite subject and my dad is trying to get him to read some John Gresham stuff this summer. I will read any People, Us, OK, or anything with a reality scandal on the cover! :)

Books and Movies - Jonathan + Jennifer

If any of you had been in our house, you would have noticed that we love books, as this is the wall right by our front door:

It looks a little different now as we've added even more books since this picture was taken a few months ago, and I reorganized the books in alphabetical order instead of by color. But, back to the point, I love books! My family is full of big readers and I always assumed it was normal to have bookshelves like this in every room of the house until I started really paying attention to other people's houses in high school.

I really could never pick one favorite book, but I really love the Anne of Green Gables series, and a not as well know series of books about called the Betsy-Tacy books about two best friends growing up in the early 1900s. I read these for the first time when I was in grade school and have read them many times since, and I still love them.

I also love biographies, classic literature, and books about history especially women's history. Not included in the big bookcases in the living room is my collection of about 25 cookbooks which I tend to read like they're novels-cover to cover.

As for movies, I'm pretty much strictly a chick-flick/rom-com girl. I really can't stand movies that have a lot of bad language or violence, and I tend to fall asleep in "scary" movies. I love old movies like An Affair to Remember, Sabrina, and Roman Holiday and some of my all-time favorites are You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Father of the Bride, and The Holiday. We also have a good-size collection of Disney movies and Christmas movies.

Jonathan reads a lot of historical fiction books, mainly military fiction, and medical thriller books about diseases. Some of his favorite books are All Quiet on the Western Front, The Hot Zone, Demon in the Freezer and a couple of biographies about former soldiers. Pretty gory stuff, I don't usually read his books. ;)

His tastes in movies are about the same, we have a lot of the big blockbuster war movies, The Patriot, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, Gladiator etc. He also really likes The Italian Job, Cinderella Man, and Oceans 11, 12 & 13.

That's about it for us. I'm looking forward to reading about everyone else's favorites and getting some good recommendations! I hate that I've been MIA from all the fun lately, I hate being sick, it's just torture for a control freak like me!

Bandit!!!! The best dog ever!! (sorry guys!)

Here is our precious baby...Bandit!!
Bandit is one year and 3 months old.  His birthday is the day before Jim's birthday.
He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  Isn't he pretty!!
He is cuddling with me in bed.  I did not want him to ever sleep in the bed with us, but Jim wanted to let him do it once....he hasn't left since!

Most of the pictures we have are when he was a puppy, because we're bad parents who don't take as many pictures as we should.  So here are some adorable puppy pictures of him.

His favorite toy is his stuffed duck, Humperdink.

Wedding Details...Jim and Jordan!!!

Sorry I am behind on the posts.  I decided I might to catch up.  I believe I shall start with my wedding dress.  It was perfect, and I absolutely love it!
My mom and Jim's mom both carried flowers and our baby Bibles down the aisle.  My mom carried
sweet pea flowers cause she has always called me "Sweet Pea." Here are our rings on the Bibles with the flowers behind.

I loved my bridesmaids and most of the groomsmen (lol).  My girls are crazy and made the day wonderful with a bridesmaid luncheon, getting hair done, and being entertaining while getting ready.  Here are some fun pics.  I thought our serious pose is funny.  The high-fiving picture is because I made them practice fixing my train like 10 times.  They were excited, because they got it right (I'm really picky, lol).

Here is our ceremony picture.

We are entering our reception, dancing, eating, then dancing some more.

Goodbye!!  We had sparklers and left in Jim's lovely decorated truck.

I know that was a lot of pictures.  But I love pictures!!!!
