Books and Movies - Jonathan + Jennifer

If any of you had been in our house, you would have noticed that we love books, as this is the wall right by our front door:

It looks a little different now as we've added even more books since this picture was taken a few months ago, and I reorganized the books in alphabetical order instead of by color. But, back to the point, I love books! My family is full of big readers and I always assumed it was normal to have bookshelves like this in every room of the house until I started really paying attention to other people's houses in high school.

I really could never pick one favorite book, but I really love the Anne of Green Gables series, and a not as well know series of books about called the Betsy-Tacy books about two best friends growing up in the early 1900s. I read these for the first time when I was in grade school and have read them many times since, and I still love them.

I also love biographies, classic literature, and books about history especially women's history. Not included in the big bookcases in the living room is my collection of about 25 cookbooks which I tend to read like they're novels-cover to cover.

As for movies, I'm pretty much strictly a chick-flick/rom-com girl. I really can't stand movies that have a lot of bad language or violence, and I tend to fall asleep in "scary" movies. I love old movies like An Affair to Remember, Sabrina, and Roman Holiday and some of my all-time favorites are You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Father of the Bride, and The Holiday. We also have a good-size collection of Disney movies and Christmas movies.

Jonathan reads a lot of historical fiction books, mainly military fiction, and medical thriller books about diseases. Some of his favorite books are All Quiet on the Western Front, The Hot Zone, Demon in the Freezer and a couple of biographies about former soldiers. Pretty gory stuff, I don't usually read his books. ;)

His tastes in movies are about the same, we have a lot of the big blockbuster war movies, The Patriot, Saving Private Ryan, Braveheart, Gladiator etc. He also really likes The Italian Job, Cinderella Man, and Oceans 11, 12 & 13.

That's about it for us. I'm looking forward to reading about everyone else's favorites and getting some good recommendations! I hate that I've been MIA from all the fun lately, I hate being sick, it's just torture for a control freak like me!

Bandit!!!! The best dog ever!! (sorry guys!)

Here is our precious baby...Bandit!!
Bandit is one year and 3 months old.  His birthday is the day before Jim's birthday.
He's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.  Isn't he pretty!!
He is cuddling with me in bed.  I did not want him to ever sleep in the bed with us, but Jim wanted to let him do it once....he hasn't left since!

Most of the pictures we have are when he was a puppy, because we're bad parents who don't take as many pictures as we should.  So here are some adorable puppy pictures of him.

His favorite toy is his stuffed duck, Humperdink.

Our only family picture so far...

Wedding Details...Jim and Jordan!!!

Sorry I am behind on the posts.  I decided I might to catch up.  I believe I shall start with my wedding dress.  It was perfect, and I absolutely love it!
My mom and Jim's mom both carried flowers and our baby Bibles down the aisle.  My mom carried
sweet pea flowers cause she has always called me "Sweet Pea." Here are our rings on the Bibles with the flowers behind.

I loved my bridesmaids and most of the groomsmen (lol).  My girls are crazy and made the day wonderful with a bridesmaid luncheon, getting hair done, and being entertaining while getting ready.  Here are some fun pics.  I thought our serious pose is funny.  The high-fiving picture is because I made them practice fixing my train like 10 times.  They were excited, because they got it right (I'm really picky, lol).

Here is our ceremony picture.

We are entering our reception, dancing, eating, then dancing some more.

Goodbye!!  We had sparklers and left in Jim's lovely decorated truck.

I know that was a lot of pictures.  But I love pictures!!!!

Gucci Pucci Heisig Stewart

Where's Gucci?

I like Jacquelyn have a love for all things fashion so Gucci received his first name from the designer. They I needed a name to match Gucci so along came Pucci and my mother kept telling me I was spelling it wrong only to discover while in Vegas that there is a designer store named Pucci as well so I was right! :)

I have had Gucci for almost 5 years now and his birthday is September 9th which is also Jo's birthday! No wonder they get along so well with me. Since Gucci was born to a single mom he kept my last name and added Stewart to the end. This is a picture of the Stewart's last week in Galveston.

He is the best dog and has such an awesome character. He loves the laundry when it comes out of the dryer and in the morning after I get up he digs his way back under the covers to sleep some more. Even when Rustin gets out of bed Gucci stays under the blanket until we force him to come to his room so we can go to work.

Before Rustin and I got engaged I had to make sure he would love Gucci too so here is a copy of the adoption paper I made him sign. His friends gave him a hard time about this, but I think it is so sweet!

These are all of Gucci's clothes and yes I know this is a bit extreme. He has 2 Halloween costumes, 2 Christmas outfits, and outfit for almost every holiday, and even a few sport outfits. GO COWBOYS!

I made Gucci do a fashion show of some outfits tonight and this is his Easter "Chick Magnet" shirt. Also his pumpkin Halloween costume and then the last is my favorite his Polo outfit!

He is my baby and I love him probably too much. My friend Cara wrote on our wedding card that I have to put Rustin first now over Gucci! Rustin reminds me of this very often! :)

Pets - Jacquelyn + Andrew

i apologize in advance for how long this post is, but Coach is a really BIG dog!
andrew and i adopted our darling great dane about a month before we got engaged, from a marine who was being deployed (no animals in government housing) --needless to say, Coach immediately became the royal prince and was showered with love and attention.
Coach got his name from my Coach shoes, the black and grey signature print. He matched!!! Coach got his middle name when my mom, me, abbye (who came to class with us) and her mom all went on a girls cruise this past november. the boat left out of New Orleans, and one of the streets is called Tchoupitoulas... i thought it was so fun to say, --like on Elf, "Francisco, oooh thats a fun name, Francisco.... Francisco" -- so Coach received a middle name. Coach Tchoupitoulas Swofford. Here is our little family this past Christmas! Coach is a merle great dane. he is not a show color, which is fine with us, we never planned to show him. he is about 3 feet tall, and full grown in height, but he has some filling out to do. He has a sweet heart and is a big cuddle bug, if we would let him he would sleep right up next to us in our bed. Sometimes on special occasions he is allowed up for a Sunday nap! he may look intimidating, but he is so gentle! he gets his feelings hurt, he cries, he talks, he is needy! but oh, we love him! Here he is taking a nap with his Mimi (my mom)
Comments/Questions we get all the time: And the answers!
1) is that a horse? no
2) do you have a saddle for that thing? yes, its in the barn (sarcastic)
3) how much does he weigh? about 135-140lbs
4) how much does he eat? a 30lb bag of food every 3 weeks, only about 10lbs a week
5) is that like what scooby/Marmaduke is? yes.
and,
6) that thing is bigger than you! (when i am walking him) really? (i'm a little more sarcastic with my answers than andrew is, he is more willing to explain things over and over again)

Coach is amazing with kiddos, the marine guy had a 3yr and 6yr old, they were like climbing on him and sticking their hands in his mouth, CRAZY! so he is well socialized, here he is with my parents next door neighbor's baby, Emmerson. oh my goodness, E just giggles and laughs when he sees Coach!
My dad likes to show Coach off in a flashy way, so this is how he walks him around my parents neighborhood, all the little old people come hobbling out of their houses to watch!
Stories to ask Andrew about: (which are too long for this post, but worth asking about)
1) the chocolate pudding
2) my mother's reaction to Coach
3) the bedding my mother gave andrew for his new apartment, r-i-p
4) his kennel and the locks
5) Coach rescued one of his puppies (he's a babydaddy)

We hope you will all get to meet Coach Tchoupitoulas, he's a darling and just loves everyone! Watch out though, he gives big kisses!

Pets-Jonathan and Jennifer

What a great topic! We love our FurBaby and tons of pictures of her, I'll try to limit them today!

I think we're the only couple in our class with a cat and no dog! Our little prima donna, (who thinks she rules the house), pet is Miss Kitty, though we more often call her Fatty Patty.

I adopted her from a shelter doing a pet adoptions day at PetCo in Hot Springs, Arkansas 5 1/2 years ago. When Jonathan and I got married she reluctantly allowed him to be a part of our family.
Jonathan never had cats before MK and he didn't really think he liked them... He has since changed his opinion and she sleeps in the bed with us every night.

You can read more about her here on my personal blog where I did a post about her a few months ago.

That's our Miss Kitty, I look forward to "meeting" everyone else's pets!
