I absolutely loved my wedding dress! I'm your typical Romantic. I'll never forget walking into the lobby of the hotel the night of our wedding and hearing a little girl say, "Mommy, look! She looks like Cinderella!" That's exactly how I felt--like a princess. All the tulle was so fun! I loved it so much I decided to incorporate it into my bridesmaid's dresses too. I chose violet for the bridesmaids' dresses. Pink is my favorite color so I don't know why I chose violet. Having kids has definitely affected my memory!!!!The flower girl and ring bearer were Carl's niece and nephew. His niece, Beth Ann, now has a daughter of her own and his nephew, Blake is in college. Wow! Now I really feel old!
Our wedding was held in Slaughter Chapel at FBC, Dallas. I grew up at that church and wanted an intimate wedding setting so I decided on the chapel instead of the large sanctuary. It was standing room only but very warm and inviting.
My Uncle officiated the ceremony up until the part where my Dad gave me away and then my Dad took over--He's an ordained minister. It was a family affair but I'm with Jacquelyn, I was so glad when it was over.
Our reception was simple and held at the reception hall there at the church, so there was no dancing. :-(
